Jesse Freedman is a professional theater and teaching artist who is dedicated to nurturing alive, artistic expression in religious Jewish communities of all denominations. As a resident artist, Jesse will work with your teenagers to create an original ensemble theater piece exploring the deepest questions posed by Jewish text, tradition and community. Every play is unique, balancing the curricular objectives of your organization, the fascination and imaginations of the teens and truth of the historical moment, all shaped and illuminated by Jewish text and tradition.
The challenge of creating as an ensemble or group is an opportunity to learn and practice the Torah’s wisdom for creating, living and functioning as a community.
Each residency culminates in a final performance of an original theater piece written, researched and performed by the members of the community.
